Website Created For School Donations

Schools throughout the country in need of supplies and equipment are getting help from a San Diego businessman. He's created a website to help connect donors and schools. KPBS reporter Beth Ford has more.

Jerry Hall of Pacific Beach says he always wanted to do something to help schools. So he took business profits from his web design company and started "I-love-schools-dot-com." Hall says the website works as a matchmaker between people with extra stuff to donate, and teachers who have a need in their classroom.

"They can ask for anything from a refrigerator to a VCR, to construction paper to crayons, so any equipment, supplies, or materials that a teacher would need."

"I-love-schools-dot-com" is free for both teachers and donors. Hall says about two thousand teachers from all over the country have already registered for help.
