Key Facts
Jerry Hall, the founder of I Love
Schools, Inc. is a San Diego businessman. He owns a web design
firm: eWebLab and uses the profits of his company to support I
Love Schools, Inc.
Jerry's motivation stems from: Any teacher, teaching any child.
This includes public, private, charter, home and pre-schools.
Jerry saw a similar website in 2001
that was designed to help the five Boroughs in New York and realized
the idea had national potential.
Since I Love Schools, Inc. is a non-profit
company, no money is made from donations to teachers. We don't
take any part of donations offered through the website because
we want 100% of those donations to go to the teachers. I Love
Schools, Inc. operations are funded by donations from businesses,
individuals and profits from eWebLab.
I Love Schools, Inc. celebrates
it's three-year anniversary in June of 2006.
How does I Love Schools, Inc. work from the TEACHER'S perspective? I Love Schools,
Inc. matches America's teachers with donations of school supplies,
materials and equipment. Any teacher from any school can register.
I Love Schools, Inc. helps verify the teacher and school address to give the donor confidence the donation will be used in the classroom. To date, I Love Schools, Inc. has verified over 100,000 schools. Teachers registering from an established school automatically receive a gold star verification. Teachers from other schools not in the database such as home schools, preschools and private schools are given the opportunity to receive this gold star verification following a simple approval process. Once a school is registered, all of the teachers from that school are welcome to begin requesting donations of specific equipment, materials or supplies. Their requests are entered into the database and posted on a personal teacher home page. The teacher can also include a photo of their classroom as well as a narrative of their need in their own words. How does I Love Schools, Inc. work from the DONOR'S perspective? A donation of
new or used items or cash can be made directly to a teacher and
classroom. Or, a cash donation can be made to I Love Schools, Inc.
and dedicated to a specific school, teacher or to the administrative
costs of I Love Schools, Inc.
