As a first year teacher, I was shocked at the amount of money I have to spend on simple items like scissors and tape! Helping with any small amount of these "office supplies" would be wonderful!
I like to engage my students in interactive learning activities that help make learning memorable and fun. The use of all of these different office supplies will help fuel the creations of creative models, foldables, and other everyday tasks.
My school is located in one of the most gang infested and poorest areas of Austin. Our students are eager to learn, but lack the basic tools (like rulers etc.) that are necessary. The families of the students that attend our school are so focused in trying to survive the hardships of life that they often don't see the importance of sending their child to school prepared and ready to learn.
Through these donations my children will be able to experience an education with the most basic materials that most lack. They will also be provided with a great model of the power of giving that they can later take with them and share with their society when they are (one day) productive citizens in our future.
