Who We Help - Teachers
iLoveSchools.com is an online WishList toolkit teachers use to equip their classrooms with new, gently used and in-kind donated resources. Every student in the classroom can benefit – at zero cost to the teacher or school.
Getting Started
We invite teachers, schools and districts, and their supporters, to register with iLoveschools.com and begin actively supporting our nation's classrooms. Once signed up, you can begin the process of requesting new and gently-used items or in-kind services or making a donation. Signup
Using iLoveSchools.com in Your Room
Once registered, the teacher receives a unique, custom home page located at a permanent iLoveSchools.com web address i.e. http://iloveschools.com/teacher/username Promoting the home page to parents and other local and national donors is easy. iLoveSchools.com provides widgets, banners, logos and text links for use on the district website, in newsletters and in email-based announcements.
Individual schools and districts can also create their own custom home page and WishLists, utilizing iLoveSchools.com in much the same way as teachers.
How it Works
Create WishLists
Teachers shop in our store to build WishLists of needed new resources. Items not found in our store are requested through custom WishLists.
WishList Fulfillment
Donors give some or all of the WishList cost. Once funded, we purchase and ship the items to the school.
Accept a Donation
Teachers use the DonorOffer board to receive new or gently used goods, as well as in-kind services like volunteers, job shadow or internship opportunities offered by donors. These resources may or may not be on the teacher's WishLists.
Share Teaching Resources
Teachers can create a DonorOffer for resources such as teaching manipulatives, books or supplies to share with any school or teacher in the district or with other local or regional educators.
Additional Capabilities
Reporting – Teachers use online reporting capabilities keeping them apprised of their donation activity and the items they are responsible for maintaining, such as thank-you messages to donors and pending DonorOffer Posts.
Security – To prevent potential fraud, all donations are only transported to Gold Star schools and school addresses in our database.
Who is a Teacher?
Educators that qualify to register as teachers on iLoveSchools.com are actively engaged in their profession, teaching kids between pre-K and 12th grade, or involved in after-school or vocational programs. This includes school librarians, homeschool parents that are associated with a homeschool co-op or association, as well as after-school programs where teachers are employed and follow an educational curriculum. All teachers in any subject area are welcome to create an account.
How Do We Do It?
All of the capabilities found on our website are available at zero cost to the teacher, school or district. iLoveSchools.com covers its streamlined administrative costs by relying on voluntary contributions from donors and supporters, as well as from social-enterprise and cause-marketing partners.
